20% of all proceeds from the sales of Desiree Jensen's
books have been earmarked
to help out some of her favorite, pet
charities.
Below you will find more information about each as
well as
links to each organization's official website.
Elliott Smith Memorial Fund/Free Arts for Abused Children
- The Elliott Smith Memorial Fund was set up in memory of
singer/songwriter Elliott Smith by his friends and family and can be
reached through Sweet Adeline.net. Since its inception, the fund
has put more than $50,000 towards the Free Arts for Abused Children
campaign. The Free Arts
program provides therapy and healing to victims of domestic violence
and "at risk" families, through dance, drama, music, painting, and many
other art forms.
VH1's Save the Music
- Next to writing, my second biggest passion is probably music.
One reason for that is that I was involved in various music programs -
band, both concert and marching; choir; honor choir; musical theater -
all through twelve years of public school and on into college.
But some kids don't get that opportunity. For a decade, VH1's
Save the Music program has been raising money and support to provide
this amazing opportunity to kids across the country. And I have
been involved with the program since the very beginning. It is
very near and dear to my heart and I hope yours as well.
S. June Smith Center
- The S. June Smith Center is located in Lancaster, PA. It was
started by my Alpha Sigma Alpha Sister, Dr. S. June Smith, KK, to
provide "early intervention resources" to children with developmental
needs. These resources include educational tools, therapeutic
services and family-centered programming.
